Western Tradition in the High Country

Horsemanship, mountain outfitting, and hunting done the right way.

See the Hunts

We believe a great hunt is about more than the animal at the end of it — it's the mountains, the horses, the camp, and the kind of wild country that keeps hunters coming back to Colorado.

Our Story

Built for the Way the West Is Hunted

At Middle Creek Outfitters, we specialize in Colorado big-game hunting for elk, mule deer, black bear, moose, and antelope — offering a variety of guided and self-guided opportunities.

From traditional horseback camps deep in the mountains to comfortable lodge-based hunts, our goal is to give every hunter an authentic Western experience built around the way they want to hunt. Our horseback hunts remain a cornerstone of the Middle Creek experience — traveling into the mountains by horse lets hunters experience Colorado's backcountry in a way few people ever get to see.

We're proud to carry on the traditions of Western hunting, horsemanship, and mountain outfitting — while providing hunters with an experience they'll remember long after the hunt is over.

How We Hunt

Three Ways Into the Mountains

01 / Horseback Camp

The Traditional Way

Travel into rugged mountain terrain by horse and establish a base closer to the country you'll hunt each day.

02 / Lodge-Based

Comfort at Base

Hunt hard and cover Colorado mountain country, then return to comfortable lodge accommodations each evening.

03 / Self-Guided

On Your Own Terms

Take advantage of Middle Creek's camp and lodging infrastructure while handling the hunt yourself.

Where You'll Stay

Our backcountry wall-tent camp puts you right in the heart of the hunting country, with room for up to eight hunters. For those who prefer a comfortable home base, the Middle Creek Lodge accommodates larger groups at the beginning and end of each hunting day.

  • Backcountry wall-tent camp · sleeps up to 8
  • Middle Creek Lodge · larger group capacity
  • Horseback access from camp into the high country
